Annmaree Warrender

Dr Annmaree Warrender is an instrument scientist on the BioSAXS beamline. Annmaree completed her PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand in the lab of Dr William Kelton. Her research interests are centered around understanding proteins relating to human health, from infectious disease to human immunity. Annmaree has conducted research investigating important proteins from the infectious human pathogen, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, as potential targets for anti-microbial design. Her PhD research focused on characterising the structural dynamics of genetically diverse human IgG antibodies using small angle x-ray scattering and fluorescent spectroscopy. Her research background also extends into understanding how the structural dynamics of globular proteins translates to enzymatic activity, including reaction kinetics and substrate specificity.
